SurgiSmoke Solutions™, formerly Nascent Surgical, was founded by Dr. Leonard Schultz, MD a general surgeon and serial entrepreneur. Dr. Schultz spent some 30 years inventing products that capture surgical smoke in an effort to preserve the health of the operating room team and prevent post-operative infections in their patients. 

Since Dr. Schultz retired in 2025, the company is now led by a team of experienced medical device professional who are dedicated to the highest standards of smoke capture efficiency in the industry for the capture of plume during open surgical procedures.
